Born and raised in a small town outside of Charlotte, NC, I first learned piano on a very old stand up at the age of 10. I was given guitar lessons at 12, and wrote my first song at age 14. I have had the chance to perform from coast to coast starting at the age of 17. Songwriting is a great passion of mine and I have been heavily influenced in my life by such greats as Tom York, Elton John, David Byrne, Townes Van Zandt, Jeff Tweedy, James Taylor, Steely Dan, Jerry Garcia, Peter Rowan, Willie Nelson just to name a few.
